Yesterday we had a very busy day. We attended daily mass, went to the parish hall for a bit of fellowship, and then rushed off to therapy. Therapy lasts for 2 hours (speech, occupational and physical). After therapy, we went home and had lunch. The children played for about half an hour and then we left for a homeschool friend’s house. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there playing and doing crafts. Then we left to pick up Papa for dinner at another friend’s house. I came home exhilerated after all this great company.
About a year and a half ago, I never would have imagined these events happening in my life. I prayed and asked for prayers from the lovely ladies at the 4Real Messageboards for some friends in real life (IRL). I had just found the ladies on the messageboard and that had been a God send. I had been floundering with just about everything and feeling SO lonely. Then I found my local Catholic homeschool group. Ah. This is what I’ve been needing.
So, in the spirit of Thankful Thursday, here’s who I am thankful for:
- God for answering my prayers.
- My internet friends who have held me up in prayer when I needed it and who have inspired me so much in my faith.
- My homeschooling group especially my dear friends V, JR, JW, and E. There are more but these 4 really gave me so much when I needed it a year ago.
- My husband who is becoming even a better friend since his return from Iraq.
- Mary, the Mother of God, for setting the example I sorely need.
- My friend K who I met in the waiting room at the therapy clinic.
Excuse my grammatical mistakes. I could go ask my husband what I should use (who or whom), but I don’t think I will. As my sister often says to her husband when she makes grammatical mistakes: "I’m an immigrant (never mind the fact that I’ve been here since I was 3 years old). 🙂
