The wedding, which was the impetus for this trip, took place during Memorial Day weekend.  We took Friday and explored Colonial Williamsburg in the morning.  I usually don't purchase tickets because they're very, very expensive.  However, the kids really wanted to see inside the buildings like the Governor's Palace.  So, I went to the ticket office to find out what the military discount was.  Turns out that the weekend offered free tickets for all military, active duty and veterans.  We were also able to get the free passes for our extended family.

We only had time to go to the Governor's Palace, but that was all the girls needed.  They had read in the American Girl story about Felicity that the Christmas ball was held here.

Look at that fabric!  It's the same pattern as the bedding for Felicity.

The one and only souvenirs the kids received on this trip (hat for the girls and rifle for boy).

I should've edited the photos, but…

Mark has that exact same gun. It must be the all time favorite boy souvenirs. We would love to get the kids to Williamsburg someday.

They all look so cute! My kids loved Williamsburg when we went, they still talk about it almost 4 years later!
