We are in the midst of our second week of ballet camp. Honey had her camp last week and Sister has hers this week.
We've had some extended family drama.
Ben came out on the promotion list for Lieutenant Colonel (LTC). I'm very proud of him. We were on pins and needles for whole week. Note to HRC (Human Resources Command): Please just publish the list. Don't send out a notice that you'll be publishing the list the week before. That's just downright mean.
I'm in the middle of tweaking our schooling. I'm not quite sure what I want to do but ideas have been brewing and percolating in my brain for a few months now. I want to do more but not too much and it needs to fit with my son's way of learning. My girls tend to get the short end of the stick and I'm trying to remedy that. Brother wants to learn Latin so I'm going to take that and run. The others will follow along leisurely I'm sure. I tend to be more unschooly, but I need to be more proactive in that vein. I'm just rambling right now. I hope to have a more concrete idea soon.
Organization is taking a big role in our lives right now. Ben is leaving for Afghanistan in a few months and I really, really want to be in a good place organizationally. Otherwise, the house will be awfully messy when he returns. I hope this will give me a swift kick to get going.
July is a month full of family birthdays. We have the big family July birthday party this Saturday. Since we are all together and it will be at my photographer brother's place, he will be taking a big family portrait as well. With everyone, that would be 18 people. My family makes up 1/3 of that. My brothers need to hurry up and start having babies (only the married ones, please).
There's more because my mind is always going a thousand miles a minute, but I need to get the kids gathered and leave for ballet camp.

A dear friend and I made plans to attend the Harry Potter movie, The Half Blood Prince tonight. It was awesome. The movie was great by itself, but it was the whole idea of going to the movies without children and with a friend (another friend met us as well). Now, don't get me wrong, I love to take my children to the movies, but it's nice to not have to be a caretaker while enjoying a movie. Ben does not like Harry Potter much so this was a great opportunity. It's been a long time since I've gone to see a movie without kids. Ten years to be exact. Thank you, Sue!

You Are an Ice Cream Sandwich
You are well grounded, reliable, and very balanced.
You love to work hard, but you also know how to take it easy.People might be surprised to know you have a very goofy side to you.
You like to let loose and have fun. You just don't let yourself go too crazy!ht: Red Cardigan -
I was saddened to learn today that one of the young boys that comes to the same therapy clinic as Brother passed away last week. He was just 11 years old. Please pray for him and his family.
Andrew couldn't walk or talk as he had a severe disability. I'm sure he's now running and talking with the saints in heaven.
Rest in pease, Andrew.

Following in the path of some great bloggers, it seems I've broken my toe. And, on the back of Sister's foot. Basically, I ran right into her heel and broke my 4th toe. The one closest to my pinky toe. I had a doctor friend look at it and he gave me the basic ice, elevate, wrap and ibuprofen advice I'd probably get from my doctor so that's what I'm going to do.
Can I tell you how silly I feel doing this on the back of my daughter's foot?

I need to have that word tattooed to inside of my eyelids.

Jake and Michelle Taylor live in Florida, a close drive to Orlando. We were able to see both of them twice. Jake looks like both his mother and father, but his facial expressions are pure Dave. Oh, my goodness, what a piercing in the heart. Thank you Michelle, for coming out to spend time with us. Jake’s quite a wonderful little guy.

I can go along daily without feeling too sad about losing Mark but then, BAM! I get reminded. I just noticed a pregnancy ticker in someone's signature on my favorite forum. It brought home that this week I would've been 36 weeks along.
I'm feeling blue and weepy.
