• I’m a bit late, but today is International Left Handers Day.  As a leftie, I fully understand the challenges of living in a right handed world.

How about you?  Are you a leftie or a rightie?  My brother-in-law gets very frustrated because all the cards I give him are upside down when he pulls them out of the envelope.  He’s obviously not a leftie.

  • I have friends who have husbands deployed.  For a couple of them this time is especially hard.  Their husbands were supposed to be home within two months but their tours were extended by 3 months.  It’s difficult as it is, but to know how close they would be to the safe return of their spouses is becoming a big burden to their hearts.

Please say a prayer for the spouses of the deployed military as well as the deployed soldier (I’m using it as an all-inclusive term).  It’s a tough row to hoe and they do it with grace and courage.

Also, if you could pray for my future sister-in-law.  She’s in surgery today to repair two ruptured disks in her back.

    Thank you!

  • Today Honey had her first day of ballet.

She was feeling excited and nervous at the same time.  Then the stress became too much for her which caused her eczema to flare up.  She has really bad eczema on the top of her left foot right where the elastic lays on her ballet shoe.  Luckily, after a few minutes she started enjoying herself.  At the end of 45 minutes she came out smiling.

  • I want to be here and here today.  Since I can’t tri-locate, I’ll just be home.  I’ll just have to order the talks.  Enjoy yourselves, ladies!

  • Dear Dave,

Today is your birthday.  Do you celebrate where you are?  I wonder what you would have been doing on this day.

I imagine that Jake would’ve woken you up today with much love and that you would not begrudge him that even though you love to sleep in.

I know you would’ve made a great father.  You used to have so much fun with my children.  Remember when Honey was born?  You came to visit us in the hospital and held her with no qualms.  Remember when Honey was making you laugh and laugh so you inadvertantly ignored Sister?  She was so mad at you in the way only girls could be.  It took you weeks to win her over again.  Sister made you work hard for her didn’t she?  You finally did win her over but then we moved away from you and Michelle.

We miss you.  Rest in peace.

    Love, KC

She was talking on the phone with Gramma.

  • Sister has moved up to Ballet I from Pre-Ballet.  Her uniform has also changed from the pink leotard to the black.  Here she is in preparation for her first day of class today.

  • Today was a day of errands:

    • Drove down to Round Rock and had Round Rock donuts (YUM-O!)
    • Bought fall/winter shoes for children (when did my son grow so big?  I can put my foot into his shoes!) taking advantage of a buy one get the second 50% off sale
    • Went to David’s Bridal to order flower girl dresses for Sister and Honey (see pictures below).  The sample dresses were in ivory and apple red, but the actual dresses will be in Victorian lilac and ivory.
    • Ate lunch, dropped kids and Ben off at mom’s house
    • Went to purchase birthday present for Sister, baptism gift for friend (whose baby is stubbornly refusing to come out), and birthday presents for friends and nephew (see picture of him below)
    • Back home to mom’s house. WHEW!
    • Ben went to IKEA to purchase two bookshelves and one table for my computer

Aren’t these dresses gorgeous?  I understand the bride has a band on the bottom of her dress similar to these.

Sister looking beautiful in her dress.  She loves it and can’t wait for her real one to arrive.

Now, Honey, absolutely loves clothes.  She’s very particular about her clothes, but this actual "princess" dress just about did her in.  Can you tell how much she likes it?

Here’s a shot of my youngest nephew.  He sure loves his purses (not his, but his cousin’s–his father would be horrified).

I haven’t had much time to blog, but here’s a quick post:

    You Belong in Spring
Optimistic, lively, and almost always happy with the world…
You can truly appreciate the blooming nature of spring.
Whether you’re planting flowers or dyeing Easter eggs, spring is definitely your season!
