• I can’t even begin to tell you how busy I’ve been.  I made too many commitments and bent over backwards to fulfill them all.  So, now I’m really far behind on my packing for vacation.  I won’t go into my busy week, but here’s what we did today.

Pumpkin is celebrating her second birthday day tomorrow and Sister has her ballet recital tomorrow so before rehearsal, we went to Sears for portraits.  The pictures turned out beautifully.  Pumpkin was her sassy self while Sister took beautiful portraits.  She’s sitting in all of them because she sprained her ankle.  She, hopefully, will be able to perform without too many of the jumps, etc (she’ll have to walk through it).

    Here are some pictures:

Poor Honey bumped her head (left forehead near her hairline) while sleeping.  She woke up with a huge goose egg.  She doesn’t remember it.  I couldn’t get a good angle for the shot.

And, finally, here’s my darling boy, who is finishing up his second session of The Listening Program.  He’s been so diligent.  The results are for another post, but there were definite changes.

  • My plate is full–actually, it’s overflowing so I’m taking a blogging break.  I will be back in about a week or so.  I’m going to try not to read blogs either so don’t write so many wonderful posts!!!

I will pray for all of you and your intentions.

  • Remember, it costs 41 cents to mail a letter starting tomorrow.  My poor family.  My parents and my sister thought the rate had increased already.  They’ve been adding extra postage to their letters since the beginning of the month.

  • Have I ever mentioned how much I love Jane Austen?  And that my favorite is Pride and Prejudice?

It seems I tied between Darcy and Edward Ferrars.  Hmmm….

    HT:  Dawn

You scored as Darcy. Your husband/boyfriend is most like Mr. Darcy of Pride & Prejudice. A beloved hero, he may be quieter and sometimes mistaken as proud, but in reality he has the most thoughtful generous nature. He appreciates good character and is extremely devoted to those he cares for. As a couple, you enjoy the company of those closest to you and may engage in thought-provoking conversations.

  • I have some prayer requests for some friends of mine:

    • My wonderful IRL friend needs some prayers for her 8 year old daughter.  Her older brother returned to Iraq after R&R a few weeks ago, her dad is leaving shortly for his deployment to Iraq and her other older brother is leaving soon to enlist in the Army.  This Army life can be tough emotionally for these young ones.  Please say a prayer for her and her family.  And, of course, for all the families in these situations.
    • The father of a friend from college, one of Ben’s best men (he couldn’t decide so he had two), has an aggressive brain tumor deep in his brain.  Please when pray for Ed Hickey, father of 5 grown children.
    • Another one of my IRL friends posted about a young lady in Ireland whose baby has been diagnosed, at 4 months in utero, with anencephaly.  She wants to go to England to have an abortion.  They’ve ruled in her favor.  Please pray for this baby and mother.  And, my IRL friend’s husband is due home soon from Iraq for R&R.  I know she would appreciate prayers for a safe journey.

Thank you all.  I know you are all such great prayer warriors.  God bless.  Have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day!!!

  • From my friend:

    Grab the nearest book.

    1. Open it to page 161.
    2. Find the fifth full sentence.
    3. Post the text of the sentence along with these instructions.
    4. Don’t search around looking for the coolest book you can find.  Do what’s actually next to you.

    Here’s mine:

"She had slipped off the steep rocks and fallen into the pool."

This is my utterly cluttered playroom but that’s a post for later.

  • Today I had to go to the dentist because when I brush my teeth, it hurts like the dickens I noticed that my gums were receding below the root line.  I had all these thoughts running through my head:  gums disease, dentures.  Luckily, (or not), it’s because I brush too hard.  The hygienist labeled me a scrubber.  So, I need to purchase a new toothbrush–she said a Sonicare would be the best because it doesn’t allow you to push down too hard.

Ooh, I wonder what damage I’m doing to my children’s teeth.  I’d better let up.  I wonder if that’s why Pumpkin hates for me to brush her teeth.

  • Yesterday I was pretty quiet on the internet.  Here’s why.

    • Number of trips to the post clinic:  2
    • How much school work was done:  None
    • Meals served:  3
    • Snacks served:  Numerous
    • Number of baths:  2
    • Number of times I had to clean up broken glass:  2 (the second time because I kept missing pieces–glass shatters on ceramic tile)
    • Number of times I had to calm Brother down because his schedule has been so out of whack:  Too many to count
    • Number of headaches:  1
    • Number of sick children:  3
    • Number of times we said the rosary:  1 (Thank God for this particular grace)
    • Number of days I’d continue with this lifestyle:  Into eternity

I love my life with all it’s ups and downs.
