In Texas, it doesn’t normally get this cold.  It’s been too cold and my hands can’t take it.  I moisturize as much as I can, but it’s not helping.  Of course, I’m washing my hands all the time, but come on–we’re in Texas.  Any suggestions?

My skin is cracking and bleeding.  Even when I lived in colder places like Liberty, Missouri, I never had this problem.

My hands crack all winter if I don’t moisturize – here is what I like to do. After washing your hands, leave them a little damp, then rub in Neutrogena Norweigan formula hand cream. Leaving them damp before applying is essential for this to work for me. HTH!

I wish I had some advice for you but I don’t. I go thru the same thing every winter.

I always had this problem in cold weather. It seems like my hands are always in water, whether rinsing diapers or washing dishes, etc. However, I switched to BioKleen hand dish detergent and my hands have not cracked since (about a month or so). That is the only thing I am doing differently, (except I am not adding moisturizer all day and night). God bless.

My skin is sensitive and fragrance is a problem too. I use Eucerin. I buy it in the 20 oz jar at (where else) Walmart. It’s a thick coating. I also lined rubber gloves for the dishwashing and cleaning with water . Also, using vasoline will work at night going to bed (rub it in like a handcream.) I do now think I was missing something internally too that helped with nails and skin, but I never figured out exactly what. I used to drink the unflavored gelatin but I’m not sure that was it.
