Four years ago, around this time, we received the official diagnosis of autism for Brother. This came the day after finding out I was pregnant with Pumpkin. I despaired of many things, one of which was whether Brother would ever be ready for any of his sacraments (those who know him IRL probably would be surprised but he has come a LONG way). Well, we are at that point. Brother, with Sister, will go to confession tomorrow. I debated having them do it together or not, but in the end, I knew he would feel better having his best sister friend next to him.
