At the Korean War Memorial, there is a wall that states, "Freedom is not free". All families who have lost soldiers (and all military) members knows this is true. I also think that everyone who is connected in some way to the military know this as well. Our soldiers fight for our American ideals with freedom being the number one item.
It is there ironic, that a mom who used to be in our homeschool group is not being allowed to exercise her rights mainly freedom of speech. We are free to express our opinions. This lady had put an anti-abortion sign in her window. Someone complained. The MPs came and asked her to take it down. She complied as she does live in quarters. A few days later, the MPs came knocking again. They wanted her to take the bumper stickers off her car. She refused as the car is personal property. She's been banned from this military installation until she complies.
Isn't it ironic? She is not allowed to express her opinions even while her husband has fought for those very freedoms.
